   Abstract
As its name implies, this book consists of 16 case studies on various topics associated with the development of sustainable tourism, together with supporting material on the use of case studies as part of a resource-based approach to learning. The majority of these case studies relate to rural tourism, where there is a tension between tourism development and environmental sustainability, particularly in National Parks, wildlife conservation, and marine conservation areas. Other cases cover aviation industries and conflicts with agriculture in developing countries. The author stresses the use of the book in providing real life situations appropriate for experiential learning.
